2008 Ski-Doo SnowmobilesSki-Doo Mountain Sleds
The 2008 Ski-Doo Summit X mountain sled is sure to climb higher and faster with its new light weight design.
The 2008 Ski-Doo Everest is the lightest of the 2008
Skidoo line-up at
a 146 inch track and 439 pounds dry-weight. Different alloys, along
with many cast aluminum parts helped Ski-Doo shave weight while still
maintaining strength.
One of the new REV designs includes moving the secondary clutch to above the tunnel, creating extra foot room. The engine is mounted vertically in the XP chassis, helping to make it more stable and reduce belt flex.
Other new features include an XP guage pack: analog tachometer, backlit LCD info centre, and analog speedometer. This means you'll have two trip odometers, engine hour meter, trip hour meter and clock on electric start models.
Ski-Doo technicians used new techolongy called Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to strength test each and every piece they've re-engineered. The mountain sled line-up has a new SC-5M rear suspension that's 9 pounds lighter than 2007 models, along with a Challenger Lite track.
The Summit X was available only on spring orders. Check out the Everest and Adrenelin lines for winter 2008 purchases.
