2008 Yamaha SnowmobilesApex MTX Snowmobile
The 2008 Yamaha Apex MTX snowmobile is built for high torque and high floatation to make it first choice for sledding in the mountains and deep powder. It uses the Genesis® 150FI 4-stroke engine that's 7 pounds lighter than the 2007 engine.
The Apex MTX uses a new, lightweight rear rack design, which allows mountain riders to cinch down their extra gear using the aluminum anchor points on the tunnel. Yamaha and Camoplast® collaborated to create the best option for mountain sledders with the Maverick™ track. The 16x162x2.25-inch track features a 3-inch pitch to allow more snow to pack in between the lugs for a firmer grip on the snow.
The Yamaha Apex MTX sled uses a ProMountain rear suspension with torsion spring design, which has been engineered to help the sled get up on the fresh snow through weight transfer and shallow track approach angle. It uses dual-angle rails, has 14 inches of vertical travel, and the rear idler wheel is elevated 25mm, thanks to the dual-angle rail design.
The Apex LTX GT guages have some great additional information for the snowmobile rider including: barometric measurements, dual trip meters, and a clock. Yamaha Apex MTX snow machine standard features include the single piece dual hooked mountain handlebar, made of the same material as the main bar section for consistent control in performance situations.
